im very interested in getting proffesional help for my moderate acne and scars…i have been wanting to consult a dermatologist for treatment, unfortunately i cannot afford it =[
anyway, i was at the mall yesterday and an acne clinic called Pacific Acne Clinic has a special offer of first free microdermabrasion treatment...i was very interested since its free haha...but at the same time i am very skeptical because i know that there's a catch to it, which is getting more treatments...
if i do get the first free treatment and not get the other treatments, will that harm my face? or will it be fine?
I have done it all. retin-A, differen, facials, pro-active,glycolic peels, microdermabrasion. My skin is very smooth & soft 2 the touch but doesnt look that way 2 the eye. I drink at least 4cups of water a day, 8 is just 2 much for my size. I eat pretty healthy, but do have junk every so often although they say that is not connected w/skin…my main problem is blemishes & very tiny little craters that almost look like enlarged pores ( i think i have these from messing w/my face 2 much, but they go away with microdermabrasion). I wish i could just have the skin of say Gabriele Union, I’m 24 should I just deal w/what I got or is there something out there? Right now i do the combo method, a little proactive, neutrogena deep pore, st ives apricot scrub, vichy cleanser, ddf acne scrub, vichy microdermabrasion @home, rubbing alcohol ( i know shoot me) & soy moisturizer w/spf this is just to maintain "decent" skin! I dont do all these things everyday, but they are worked into a weekly regimen.

I was sent this kit to review as I was giving one away on my blog (yea! @HaleyBean your kit is on the way)so I decided I wanted to not only review it on my blog but do a demonstration for everyone on here. For all the details and scientific facts behind the product, check out there site: skincarerx.com Consider how much you pay for this when you go to the dermatologist and consider how much you will save if you use this at home instead. I can’t believe how amazing this product works (I was definitely skeptical walking into it) and had to eat my words. The starter kit is a bit pricey (US 9) but the refills are very reasonably priced at US .99. I have been to a dermatologist, he said I have melanoma. I used cream it seemed to help but not get rid of it! Is microdermabrasion the easiest way to get rid of this? How long would it last if I get this done? Would it also help with the fine lines? I am 38 and single again. Anyone ever have this done before? What were your results? I have to wear alot of makeup to cover it…then in the summer time it seems to melt off. I can’t find a good makeup to cover up and want to get rid of it. Don’t have tons of money tho. Mother of 3.

I have acne but did Accutane for 5 months and now have minimal acne. The trade-off though is now I’m getting a lot of dead skin on my forehead (dead blackened skin). What’s really weird is that I can peel that dead skin from my forehead (certain areas) and it will come off but it will come again the next day in the same spots. I somehow think that dead skin from different parts of my face are shifting to those spots every day.
Short story is, what can I do to get rid of this dead skin? It’s seriously a b*tch and it has been bothering me for months!
Should I do some kind of treatment like microdermabrasion or a chemical peel or something?
At the moment I’m just using a Biore acne wash product and Basis face wash.
Thanks in advance for your answers! I will be visiting a dermatologist shortly but may avoid doing that if you guys can provide me with a good answer.
Oops. Didn’t put that I have a combination type skin. Name products or if I should do some type of treatment. I make decent money so I’m not worried too much of costs.
amacorp.com AMA Corp’s SpectraLiftâ„¢ Laser Face Lift, utilizes a synergistic combination of multiple types of lasers (“modalities”) in order to target all the layers of the skin and all their component tissue types, resulting in effective treatment of these symptoms. The process is extraordinarily comprehensive, comprising five to eight distinct procedures wrapped into one synergistic treatment. The overall treatment is remarkably fast, requiring between 60-90 minutes and causes no excessive side effects. The typical patient will experience minimal downtime returning to work the very next day, while some prefer to take 2-3 days off. To enhance the results of the treatment and promote the overall long-term health of your skin, specially formulated medical-grade moisturizers and skin-care regimens (and makeup if desired) are applied to the treated area immediate after each procedure, allowing patience to return to their normal activities without interruption (minimal “down-time”). And the person that did it did it so hard that it burn my face. Now I went to a dermatologist to see if I can get chemical peel, he charge me 150 dollars just to see me and then he said it would take 5000 to get the chemical peel in sessions. I told him I cant afford. Im trying proactiv and its drying out my face to the point that its peeling… What i want to know is is there anyone out there that knows of a person or place that I can go to in the nyc area that can give me a chemical peel or anything to get rid of the dark spots that specialize in african american skin at a reasonal price???

My dermatologist says I should exfoliate with a scrub twice a week, but it’s been a few weeks now and I still have lots of little whiteheads! Should I invest in a microdermabrasion treatment?
I am 36. The effects of too much time in the sun and no sunscreen are starting to show a bit. I am not scarred or marred in any way, but want to be on a good skin care plan for my skin as I mature. My skin is dull and looks just drab. I was using Retin A Micro from my dermatologist and loved the results but stopped due to dryness. I recently started using it again and have purchased a good moisturizer to help with the dryness. I want to get on a set skin care regime.
I am having a microdermabrasion treatment tomorrow. Will I see improvement after one treatment or is it necessary to purchase the package of 6?
I don’t want to waste hundreds of dollars . I was hoping to only get by with one a month and then get a Jessner’s peel in the summer ( June or July) .

I have a few acne-scars on my back and have read that microdermabrasion (resurfacing the skin) or chemical skin-peeling are both popular ways to remove the outer layer of skin / get rid of the scars. Are there any "home" kits for performing this or alternative ways of performing it without a visit to a dermatologist? The closest one to me is about 2 hours away.
